Everything You Need to Know about the JetBlue Plus Card
The JetBlue Plus Card offers incredible savings and benefits for loyal JetBlue travelers. In addition to its generous rewards rates and welcome bonus, cardholders enjoy perks like a recurring annual point deposit that helps offset the $99 annual fee. It is also one of the few airline credit cards that allow you to spend your way up the status ladder, making it appealing for frequent travelers.
Even occasional JetBlue travelers can find value in the JetBlue Plus Card, especially if they frequently check luggage. Despite being a smaller airline compared to others, the card’s value will depend on your location and preferred travel destinations.

How the JetBlue Plus Card Works
The Barclays JetBlue Plus Card offers 6 points for every dollar spent at qualified JetBlue locations, 2 points at participating restaurants and grocery stores, and 1 point for every dollar spent elsewhere. There are no restrictions on how many TrueBlue points you can accumulate annually, and each point is worth approximately 1.5 cents.
Additionally, there is a sign-up bonus of 80,000 bonus points after making $1,000 in purchases and fully paying the annual fee within the first 90 days. This bonus alone can be enough to get you one or more round-trip flights, depending on your travel destination.
What sets this card apart is its partnership with American Airlines. You can add your American trips to your TrueBlue loyalty account and vice versa, maximizing your options for earning and redeeming points.
Renewing your JetBlue Plus Card each year and paying the annual fee earns you 5,000 bonus points. Barclays and JetBlue also offer a 10% redemption bonus, allowing you to book flights using 20,000 TrueBlue points and receiving 2,000 points back in your account.
Redeeming Your TrueBlue Points
JetBlue offers flights to over 100 locations in the United States, the Caribbean, Central America, and England. While JetBlue doesn’t have an award chart, the price in points for a flight will vary based on the cash cost of the identical flight.
For economy flights, points are typically worth between 1.3 and 1.5 cents each. For example, a $84 flight from Boston (BOS) to Washington, D.C. (DCA) costs 4,900 TrueBlue points and $5.60 in taxes.
If you prefer flying business class, known as Mint service, points have a slightly lower value of around 1.1 cents per point. A sample Mint flight from New York (JFK) to Los Angeles (LAX) costs $849, 77,600 TrueBlue points, or $5.60.
TrueBlue points can also be used to book the flight component of a JetBlue Vacations package. Plus, when using your Barclays JetBlue Plus credit card to pay for at least $100 of a JetBlue Vacations package, you’ll receive a $100 yearly statement credit.
Depending on available awards, TrueBlue points can potentially be used for Hawaiian Airlines flights as well.
Maximizing Your Rewards
The JetBlue Plus Card can offer significant rewards for everyday expenses. Let’s look at a hypothetical example:
