How Does the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card Work?
The Amazon Business Prime American Express Card is ideal for businesses that frequently make purchases from Amazon and its affiliated brands. In addition to the main Amazon website, this card offers greater benefits for Amazon Web Service (AWS) cloud platform usage, Whole Foods purchases, and Amazon Go self-checkout stores.
For eligible Prime members, the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card allows you to earn an unlimited 5% back in rewards or enjoy 90-day interest-free terms on eligible U.S. purchases at Amazon Business, AWS, Amazon.com, and Whole Foods Market. The 5% reward rate applies to the first $120,000 in purchases each calendar year. You can also earn 2% at U.S. dining establishments, 1% at U.S. petrol stations, and 3% on cellular phone services obtained directly from U.S. service providers.
However, businesses that have significant expenses outside of Amazon purchases and AWS usage may find the benefits of this card less valuable. While you can earn 2% back on purchases at U.S. restaurants, gas stations, and wireless phone services from U.S. providers, all other purchases only earn 1% back.
To apply for the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card, you need to have either a personal or business Amazon Prime membership. If you don’t have a personal Prime membership, the cost of Business Prime ranges from $179 to $10,099 per year, depending on the number of users you need to cover. Business Prime Duo, priced at $69 a year, is available as an add-on to your personal Prime membership.
